Public Trans Spec II

The essential duties for this job include:
Review, process and administer public transportation state and federal grant agreements, applications, and contracts.
Conduct project management oversight and compliance monitoring of grant sub-recipients within assigned areas of the state.
Provide public transportation information and technical assistance to internal and external sub-recipients, the public and others.
Conduct the federal 5310 annual project call for assigned District areas.
Reviews, processes and approves requests for reimbursement.
Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.
Monitors payments, procedures and projects including site visits to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
Monitors procurement of equipment; checks against specifications.
Keeps abreast of and ensures compliance with laws, regulations, policies and procedures, and standards pertaining to programs.

This job requires the following:
Bachelor's Degree in public or business administration or an accounting related field preferred
Work Experience
This job requires the following:
5 years in experience in grant/funding administration, planning, budgeting and/or working with state and federal funding.
(Experience can be satisfied by fulltime or prorated parttime equivalent)
No supervisory experience required.
Relevant experience may be substituted for education on a year per year basis.

Safety Impact certifications are not required at the time of application. As required, the Safety Impact, Commercial Driver and/or Vessel Crewmember certification(s) will be issued by TxDOT at the time of hire.
Must pass a drug test prior to employment for commercial driver, safety impact and vessel crewmember positions. Commercial drivers, safety impact employees and vessel crewmembers will be subject to additional drug and alcohol testing during employment.
Required to work weekends and holidays.
Required to work hours other than 8 to 5.
Required to work under exposure to inclement weather conditions.
Required to wear personal protective equipment provided by employer and comply with all safety requirements.
Successful completion of a criminal background check to include verification of identification and residency, and a national fingerprint-based records check at the employer's expense is required.
Driver's record check will be conducted by the Department. Satisfactory driving records are required for driving state or personal vehicles and motor driven equipment to conduct agency business.
Must attend work regularly and observe approved work hours.
External final applicants for any department position who could potentially be required to drive for the department must pass a drug test prior to employment and will be subject to reasonable cause testing during employment.
External final male applicants who are 18-25 years of age will be required to furnish proof of registration or exemption from registration with the Selective Service System.
Successful completion of a post-offer/pre-employment physical exam at the employer's expense is required.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
