Patient Services Operator


Summary:
Serves as initial contact for all callers.
Receives and relays incoming telephone calls for the assigned area/clinic.
Provides directory information and transfers calls as appropriate.
Provides additional clerical support as needed.
DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Answers, screens, and directs calls on multi-line phone system in a courteous and professional manner; takes messages and/or forwards telephone calls to appropriate employee, voice mail, or pager.
Clears messages each morning and delivers to appropriate employees.
Determines caller needs and directs them to the appropriate employee/locations.
Responds to callers, clients, and employees in a courteous and professional manner.
Composes and types routine correspondence as required.
Performs general clerical duties including but not limited to filing, photocopying, faxing, and mailing as required.
Demonstrates a high level of professionalism in dealing with confidential and sensitive issues.
Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient on INSERT COMPUTER PROGRAM(S) REQUIRED FOR POSITION .
Strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels.
Commitment to excellence and high standards.
Strong organizational skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
Computer and typing skills Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
Bilingual skills a plus.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
